They just hide until the smell goes away, then come back out.
Cockroach eggs are protected inside these hard cases. Market sprays don't affect eggs at all. So even if you kill all the adult ones, eggs hatch after a few weeks and you're dealing with the same problem again.
Plus cockroaches can actually become resistant to chemicals if you keep using the same spray repeatedly. They adapt. Surviving ones pass this resistance to their babies, and slowly the spray becomes less effective.

Our technician applies tiny gel dots in specific places - behind your fridge, under the kitchen sink, near gas pipeline areas, inside cabinets, wall cracks, basically anywhere cockroaches are hiding or traveling through.
Cockroaches eat this gel. But they don't die immediately right there. They go back to their nests first. Other cockroaches then come in contact with them, or eat their droppings (yeah, they actually do that), or eat the dead ones. This spreads the poison through the entire colony.
Takes about 7-10 days for the whole colony to get affected. You'll see dead cockroaches in various spots during first week - that's completely normal and means it's working. After 2 weeks, activity drops a lot.

After 1 Week: Dead ones reduce and you'll spot way fewer live ones. The gel has spread through colony by this point.
